In its role as the ESRD Network of Florida, FMQAI provides quality improvement, data management, grievance investigation, technical assistance, and patient and professional education services for more than 310 dialysis providers and 20,000 dialysis patients in the state of Florida. Its goal is to efficiently and effectively increase the quality of care and quality of life for Florida's ESRD patients.
The Function of FMQAI: The Florida End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Network is to serve as a liaison between the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and ESRD Providers, as well as between providers and the ESRD patients under their care. The goals of the Network include:
- Improving the quality of health care services and quality of life for ESRD beneficiaries;
- Improving data reporting, reliability, and validity between ESRD facilities / providers, Networks and CMS;
- Establishing and improving partnerships and cooperative activities among and between the ESRD Network, Quality Improvement Organizations, State Survey Agencies and
- ESRD providers / facilities; and Evaluating and resolving patient grievances.
