Your Medicare Rights
Other Appeals
- A Medicare patient has the right to appeal a discharge if he or she does not agree with the discontinuation of skilled services. The patient must be given a letter with the planned discharge date explaining how to appeal the discharge. A Medicare patient can appeal even if they are in an HMO.
After the letter is given, call FMQAI at 866-800-8768. Our FMQAI physician will look at the medical record to see if the services should continue. The Medicare patient will be informed of the decision. For additional information, call
