Critical Access Hospitals (CAH)

FMQAI has been contracted, in conjunction with the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, by the Florida Department of Health, Office of Rural Health, to conduct a patient safety initiative with a focus on medication safety for Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) since 2003. In addition, as the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Florida, FMQAI offers technical assistance to all Medicare providers concerning the medication safety topics of reducing inappropriate prescribing in the elderly and drug-drug interactions.
