Surgical Care Improvement and Heart Failure Project
The 9th Scope of Work Surgical Care Improvement and Heart Failure Project (SCIP/HF) combines initiatives to reduce the incidence of surgery-related complications and the prevention of heart failure. FMQAI, the Florida Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO), in conjunction with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, will intensively support the work of 16 selected Florida acute care hospitals to implement the SCIP/HF initiative by promoting, encouraging and assisting with the adoption of standard processes of care for the prevention of surgical site infections, cardiac complications, venous thromboembolisms, and heart failure. The 9th Scope of Work SCIP/HF includes nine measures.FMQAI will work with the 16 recruited hospitals to implement system-wide interventions and cultural change by providing onsite visit support, tools, resources, web conferences/teleconferences, and collaborative opportunities.
