You do not need to leave the hospital until FMQAI calls you with the results of the “second opinion.”
If you are in the skilled nursing facility, have home health care, hospice or comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation and you are told that Medicare will not pay anymore for your skilled services, you can ask for a “second opinion.” Call FMQAI’s expedited appeal helpline at 866-800-8768 Monday through Sunday between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm including holidays.
