EHR / DOQ-IT

In the previous scope of work called the “Doctors Office Quality-Information Technology (DOQ-IT) project”, FMQAI provided support to small and medium primary care practices that planned to implement electronic health records (EHRs). We also provided assistance to practices with EHRs helping them to maximize EHR use and return on investment. We are not a vendor of EHR products and do not endorse any vendors.

The "DOQ-IT Manual" is helpful for Practices to understand what needs to be done prior to purchasing and implementing an EHR. The manual also includes helpful helpful Quality Improvement tools for physician practices. Practices may want to assess their workflow efficiency. A workflow software program is used to help identify opportunities to improve workflow. This should help to identify duplicative, time-consuming or wasteful activity. The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) is "a private nonprofit organization with the sole public mission of accelerating the adoption of robust, interoperable helath information technology by creating a credible, efficient certification process". for the EHR for Prevention Project, FMQAI will work with primary care practices that use CCHIT certified EHR. The list of certified ambulatory EHRs are included on the CCHIT website.
