FMQAI’s “EHR 4 Prevention Project”

The overall goal of the Prevention theme is to improve the efficiency and frequency of preventive health services in order to optimize Medicare beneficiaries’ quality of life and health care. The Prevention theme involves FMQAI working with Florida Primary Care Practices to improve rates of two cancer screenings (mammography and colorectal cancer [CRC] screening) and two immunizations (influenza and pneumococcal) among Medicare beneficiaries in Florida.

FMQAI will work with a select group of Florida Primary Care Practices to implement care management processes in an effort to improve rates of these preventive services.

The participating Florida Primary Care Practices must have already implemented electronic health records (EHRs) certified by a certifying body recognized by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. FMQAI will assist each participating practice to use its certified EHR to accomplish improved care management processes and improved preventive measure rates. Each participating practice will use its certified EHR to produce and report data on the preventive measures.
